Warmington Almshouses
Applying for a Home
Information about applying to become a resident of one of the Warmington almshouses.
Before you apply
Before making an application, please read the WACT Information Sheet for Applicants. It explains more about the almshouses and the application process.
Applications can be made using either the PDF application form or the online application form. If applying online, we recommend reading the PDF form first so that you can see what information will be required.
Applicants should provide as much information as possible. However, an application will still be considered if some information cannot be provided. Where further information is required, the Trust will contact the applicant.
How applications are considered
WACT does not operate a first-come, first-served waiting list.
When an almshouse becomes vacant, the Trustees consider all applications received and make a judgement about which applicants are most suitably qualified under the rules of the Trust established by the Charity Commission.
The application process
1. Apply
Complete either the PDF application form or the online application form, providing as much information as possible.
2. Visit
When considering applicants for a vacancy, Trustees arrange for applicants to visit the almshouses individually.
3. Consideration
Trustees collectively consider anonymised summaries of the application information together with information from the visits.
4. Appointment
The Trustees collectively decide whom to appoint. A successful applicant is appointed as a beneficiary of WACT.
